Roddenberry continues to shine for Harding

Searcy, Ark. -- Zach Roddenberry has picked up right where he left off a season ago. The former Salem stand out and senior at Harding University (Searcy, Ark.) was the top shooter in Division II as a junior (157 of 224, 70 percent from the field) and so far 2012 is no different. In Harding's recent win over Champion Baptist, Roddenberry hit all eight shots he attempted and led the Bison with 19 points. In three games for Harding, all victories, Roddenberry is averaging team-highs in points (22.3), rebounds (9.3) and field goal percentage (26 of 35, 73 percent).

The 6-8 forward had a monster game in a win over St. Edward's on Nov. 17, scoring 30 points on 12 of 17 shooting and adding a career-high 16 rebounds.

After an excellent career at Salem, Roddenberry was primarily a bench player for Harding, starting just one of 46 games in his first two seasons. That all changed in his third year as Roddenberry started all 27 games and was named first-team all-Great American Conference while averaging 15.3 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Harding tries to remain unbeaten when it hosts Christian Brothers University on Monday.
