Mrs. Wilma Sorrow, age 90, of Covington passed away October 29, 2012 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. She was born July 8, 1922 in Canton, Georgia to the late William Asbury and Minnie Helton Gibbs. Mrs. Sorrow was a 75 year charter member of the Calvary Temple Holiness Church in Atlanta and in recent years attended The First Baptist Church of Covington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George Watson Sorrow, Jr., her husband of later years Reverend John Sorrow and her grandson Todd Watson Davis. Mrs. Sorrow is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Joan and Ray Franz of Social Circle, son and daughter-in-law William “Bill” and Martha Sorrow of Jackson, one sister Winnie Bowers of Conyers, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Sorrow will be held at 2 O’clock, Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Tye Sorrow officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3pm until 5pm on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. J.C.
