OMG. I just learned that Clint Eastwood is only three months older than me! I've been taught to respect my elders but this is as far as I go. Talk to a chair? No way! I've cussed a doorjamb or two, but only after I've stubbed my toe. Talk to a chair? Only to tell our dog to move over so I can sit down. Talk to a chair? My recliner, a sofa and a love seat all say no. Even the canvas chair on the deck refuses to admit having any conversations with me.
Now, I'm going to suggest a Democratic rebuttal. Let's discard the chair and replace it with a locked file cabinet marked "Tax Returns" and several locked safes labeled "Off-shore Money." At the podium, replace Clint with millions of Americans. Not a word needs spoken.

That might work, for misinformed liberals. At least until Clint rolls out a chained and padlocked vault labeled "obama's college records and REALbirth certificate", then all bets are off.
Romney has released as many years of his tax records as any other presidential candidate in modern times, and that's enough. They are not "forged" and he hasn't spent millions of dollars to protect them as Obama has on hiding his past.
If Romney had any problems with his taxes, the IRS would have been all over him years ago. The libs want them publicized to play the class warfare game over his (self-earned) wealth. Chances are, they already have them in hand, but federal privacy laws prevent them from releasing them without Romney's permission.
But, I have no problem with him releasing them, so long as Obama comes clean about his past, as well...and isn't going to happen for obvious reasons.
Your idea is cute, albeit quite partisan and naive.

Misinformed liberals? Come on, Elmo, even you can get a copy of our President's Birth Certificate if you choose. I've seen coffee mugs available on the Internet with said certificate. EVERY CANDIDATE since Romney's father has released multiple tax records. Mitt has released one (1) so far. I can't find any but his that shows multiple off shore bank accounts. He supposedly release 12 - 14 to the McCain people when he sought the VP nomination in 2008. Point of agreement, Elmo. Neither you nor I have a problem with their release - only the Romney crew. I agree my suggestion is partisan but why is it naive? Can't we expect honesty from someone seeking to lead us?

He's actually released two years worth. The problem you seem to have is with offshore bank accounts; IF he does have those, what does it matter? Where he keeps the money he earned is nobody's business, but his. Only the envious left are embroiled in this class envy and demonizing the rich. You said yourself you couldn't find any returns listing any offshore accounts, so maybe they aren't any. And if there are, they're non-taxable anyway...which is the point in having them.
You sound as if he hoarding YOUR money somewhere. That's not YOUR money, it's his, he earned it legally, and it's his..where he keeps it is no business of anyone, except himself.
If I hit the lottery, I would put my money where it was the safest, earned the best interest, and sheltered from taxation.
Only you of the left are whining about his tax returns, as iit (and free contraception) are diversions from the mass failure of Obama.
You and your left wing are afraid that some American will not be soaked for taxes to be redistributed to entitlement crowd.
I like rich people, they create jobs, they give to charity, and pay 50-percent of the taxes. My parents taught me to not envy successful people, but to emulate them.
As for the birth certificate and college records, well the BC he released has been proven by experts to be "altered". Ask yourself this, if he had it for the first three years, why didn't he release it then, instead of spending a million to keep it under wraps? Does that show sound, financial judgement, or even common sense?
Where's obamas tax returns, or Harry Reid's? The both went into office dirt poor, now theyre millionaires...where did that money come from on government salaries?
But, you give them a pass, decause they're liberals, like you seem to be.
If I was Romney, I would hold back my returns too, but not to hide anything, but just to show you that I didn't have to do your bidding.
Maybe he's playing "rope-a-dope" with you, waiting on your ilk to go completely bananas about it, the produce them to show what fools you've made of yourself.
The president has unfettered access to any info he needs, and if he had anything to show about Romney's records, it would have "leaked" already...after all, he is the king of leaks. And, as I said, as greedy as this administration is, the Revenuers would have been all over Romney by now.
Your argument is a Strawman, based more on liberal talking points, than facts. Only those with one hand out, and on hand over their eyes, agree with you.

What has obama done other than destroy the American Dream, gut our military, build up other countries while destroying our country, obama care is a joke, he is againt capitolism, look at our debt, wants everyone to rely on the goverment, I could go on and on. If this joke is re-elected this country will fail big time. To all the fools that voted by color you should not be allowed to vote and if you are on welfare you should not be allowed to vote. Please, Will, give us some facts. How has he "destroyed" the American Dream? What has he done to "gut our military?" What countries has he "built up?" Please "go on and on" with facts, data, proof, truth. Do you really believe that depriving blacks and poor the right to vote will make America an better nation? What happened to "one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all?"

southside, in my original comment I never said anything about black people. I said people who vote by color, this could go either way black or white. I know plenty of people who would never vote for a black person just because they're black and that is an ignorant way to think just like voting for a black person just because they're black is also an ignorant way to think.

papmilt, I think a black person has every right to vote but if they are ignorant enough to vote because of someones skin color they are to stupid to vote, that goes for black or white voters as well. As for the welfare suckers they cant take care of themselve so how do you think they can make an intelligent vote they just want another handout or entitlement. Im sick and tired of all the welfare fraud that goes on in this country and its done by all races. These non-productive people need to learn to make wise choices before they can vote. I know there are alot of good people seeking help now due to the economy im not talking about those people im talking about the worthless free-loaders.

I agree. There is a lot of welfare fraud and worthless freeloaders out there! It makes me sick because I worked two jobs in the 90s to make ends meet and never once tried to get welfare or any government assistance. I am glad the assistance is there for people who truly need it now because of the economy but not for the ones who try to beat the system...popping out babies left and right knowing they cannot take care of the first one that they had!

I compare Obama to the "snake oil" salesmen of olden times. They will tell you anything and what you want to hear as long as you buy into their pitch. Obama made a lot of promises four years ago..promises that some people wanted to hear. Look at what he is doing now, pandering to the special interest groups, gays, Latinos, etc. in order to get their votes. More promises of what they want to hear. I can only hope that people see through his smoke screen and not re-elect him for four more years. I really dont know if the country can take it.

I would like to hear from either of them what they are going to do to make things better for everyone...not just the groups Obama has promised the world to. The handouts need to stop. Medicaid fraud and abuse must stop. I havent heard either say anything about that.

There are plenty of people out there working two jobs to scratch out a living and this did not JUST happen. This happened LONG before Obama came into office. What about when Reagen was in office and interest rates were double digits!!! Explain that!!! When Bush took office, he didn't accomplish anything fantastic. Name one thing that he did that was so great other than leave the mess behind for Obama to try and clean up! Obama is not a miracle worker and he was NOT dirt-poor as you say, before he took office. How come Bush didn't catch Bin Laden? Explain that!!! And I suppose if Mitt gets elected, all of sudden all of your problems will go away? Cry me a river. BOO-HOO!
