Marjorie Rutherford, age 88, of Conyers, died Thursday, September 13, 2012. Marge and Bill moved to Lithonia in 1968 when Rutherford Equipment was relocated to Lithonia and lived there for many years until moving to Oxford. She retired from Rutherford Equipment in 2000 after 35 years of service and was a longtime member of the Lithonia First United Methodist Church and in later years the First Presbyterian Church in Covington. Marge was a dedicated wife, mother and an especially devoted grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Edwin Rutherford and daughter, Billie Claire Guest. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Cindy Rutherford, Barry and Cathy Rutherford; son-in-law, Ted Guest; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sue Simmons; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and her long term companion and caregiver, Mary Mitchell. A funeral service will be held 11 o’clock, Monday, September 17 in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wade officiating. Interment will follow at 1 o’clock at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
