Mr. Wayne Hilton, age 74 of Stockbridge, died April 7, 2013. He is survived by wife of 47 years, Cecily Hilton of Stockbridge; daughter & son-in-law, Kelly & Chip Temple; grandchildren, Kaleb Temple and Tyler Temple, all of Stockbridge; in-laws, Leonard & Frances Fordham of Atlanta; sisters, Pat Smith of Atlanta, Ethel Norton of Jacksonville, FL; brother & sister-in-law, Steve & Carol Hilton of Carrollton; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hilton was a graduate of Bowden High School in Bowden, GA, attended the University of West Georgia, and served in the US Navy in Submarine Services. He was a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple and the Philologia Lodge #178. He was an active member of Union United Methodist Church and was involved on the campaign side of local politics. Prior to his retirement, he was a member of The National Electrical Contracting Association and Associated Builders and Contractors. Most important to him was spending time with his family, especially hunting and fishing with his grandsons, and working in his garden. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Scot Wards Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Wallace Wheeles and Rick Marson officiating; interment will follow at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W.
