ATLANTA Georgia educators now have access to thousands of digital resources aligned to the state's K-12 curriculum through the new Teacher Resource Link.
The Georgia Department of Education developed the Teacher Resource Link as part of the State Longitudinal Data System so that teachers could easily find digital materials for students based on their academic performance. TRL allows teachers across the state to quickly find the various resources that can help each student excel.
TRL also ensures that every teacher has access to the same information working from the same knowledge base all delivered to educators' desktops in a few simple clicks. TRL currently includes 18,000 digital resources based on state standards for K-12 teachers, but new material is being added each day.
"Teacher Resource Link is another example of how Georgia is using cutting-edge technology to help educators be as effective as possible in the classroom," State School Superintendent Dr. John Barge said. "These kinds of tools are invaluable because they save our teachers a tremendous amount of time and will ultimately help our students be college and career ready because they are getting the best instruction possible."
SLDS is a free, one-stop-shop portal for student data where teachers and school administrators can monitor a child's progress from kindergarten through graduation from test scores to attendance records to discipline reports. Where teachers once had to visit the district's vault of student records at the start of each year and wade through paper files to find out about their students, now educators can access that information through their local Student Information System with the click of a mouse.
