Alumnus to speak at Georgia Perimeter graduation

ATLANTA -- Georgia Perimeter College alumnus Jerry S. Wilson, founder of JSW Consulting LLC, and formerly a senior vice president at Coca-Cola, will be the speaker at Georgia Perimeter College's spring 2013 commencement ceremony.

Commencement will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, at the Atlanta Civic Center, which is located at 395 Piedmont Ave. in Atlanta.

An estimated 1,700 students are expected to be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Wilson is a 1974 graduate of DeKalb Community College, as Georgia Perimeter was then known, and is an alumnus of the Chi Pi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society at GPC.He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in economics at the University of Georgia and a master's of business administration in marketing at Mercer University.

He began his career in the automotive industry, working first for Ford and then Volkswagen, where he served as its U.S. brand manager. Wilson then enjoyed a 24-year career at the Coca-Cola Company; he retired last year from his position as global chief customer and commercial officer.

In 2005, Wilson started his own company, JSW Consulting, at which he advises select business clients on strategic planning, growth and branding. He also is a public speaker and co-author of the book, "Managing Brand You: Seven Steps to Creating Your Most Successful Self."

Georgia Perimeter College, the largest state college of the University System of Georgia, serves approximately 23,000 students through four campuses, including Clarkston, Decatur, Dunwoody and Newton; it also has partnership sites in Newton and Rockdale Counties, as well as in Alpharetta.
