CONYERS -- The Rockdale County Department of Transportation, along with design consultant QK4, will hold a public information meeting to discuss plans for the Sigman, Old Covington and North Salem Road Intersection Improvement Project.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 1400 Parker Road, Lobby C, Conyers.
The meeting will provide information about the detour route to be implemented due to the proposed closing of the Old Covington Highway intersection for a single weekend to construct intersection improvements. The proposed improvements include limited realignment of the road, construction of additional turn lanes and installation of traffic signal equipment.
Also during the open house meeting, the public will be allowed to view displays of the project and the proposed detour route and learn additional information about the project.
After the open house, citizens can view the detour route map and project displays with the assistance of an employee familiar with the project. The detour map and project displays will be located at the RDOT offices at 2570 Old Covington Highway, Conyers.
For more information or assistance viewing the detour map, please call 770-278-7200. Written comments concerning the detour route will be accepted at the RDOT offices or by email to Jeff Dyer, Project Design Engineer, at firstname.lastname@example.org until Feb. 13.
