Timothy Easley, a 27-year veteran with the Postal Service, delivers mail to homes in Annsbrooke subdivision Wednesday afternoon. Easley may soon have Saturdays off after the Postal Service announced that it will cease Saturday delivery of first-class mail by August in an effort to cut costs after losing nearly $16 billion last fiscal year. Easley said he has worked many Saturdays during his career, but may now find it easier to attend family functions on weekends. The Postal Service's cost-cutting plan calls for continued delivery of packages six days a week and will maintain post office operating hours on Saturday. People with post office boxes will also continue to get mail on Saturdays. Staff Photo: Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith
