CONYERS -- A 27-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.
Killed was Joshua Lagrand of Conyers, a passenger in the Dodge Caravan that ran off the roadway on Costley Mill Road near the intersection with Ga. Highway 138 at about 4:30 a.m.
According to the RCSO, Lagrand died at the scene of injuries sustained in the accident. The 24-year-old male driver received minor injuries but was taken to an Atlanta area hospital to be checked out.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident, according to the RCSO. Results of toxicology tests are pending. If it is determined that the driver was driving under the influence, he will likely be charged with first degree vehicular homicide, among other charges, according to the RCSO.
