CONYERS — The Conyers Police Department has issued a lookout for a man who held up the Texaco station at 1801 Ga. Highway 138 on Saturday night.
The suspect, who was armed with a handgun and jumped over the store counter, was described as a 6-foot-tall black man weighing 160 pounds and wearing a gray knit cap with tassels, a black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. He also had a brown scarf covering his face.
The 39-year-old female clerk told Conyers Police that she was stocking a cigarette rack at about 10 p.m. when the suspect came in the store, jumped over the counter, pointed a handgun at her and ordered her to open the register. The victim said she ran out of the front door screaming for help, with the suspect chasing behind her.
The suspect ran to a car parked at a nearby business and fled. He did not get any cash from the gas station. According to police, the getaway car is believed to be a newer model hatchback-type vehicle.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Detective Kevin Krueger at 770-929-4215 or email kevin.krueger@conyersga.gov.

Didn't sound like the alleged robber had thought things out before hand, huh? Obviously he didn't know the clerk would go out screaming for help? Media mentions our school teachers possibly being taught how and when to use handguns in the classroom, sounds to me like this needs to be done everywhere, for everyone's safety, or at least give store clerk's a "sportin chance".....

If Obama had a son, he would look like this suspect.

Wait, where is "travelingman" now with his comments? Apparently the store did have cameras. Maybe you'll say the camera was tired and overworked. Maybe the camera's view was impaired? But that looks like a thin black male to me. And by the way, the store seems pretty well lit.

I love how bias the Rockdale Citizen can be. Half of my comments don't get posted because I am commenting on the suspect being black and the fact that most crimes in Rockdale are committed by black men yet they will post comments about this guy being Obamas son. Maybe I should use the term "African American" and make everyone feel better or maybe I am getting the "African American" moderator that picks and chooses comments on here?

Then how do you reconcile the fact that the posts appear as soon as you tap the "post comment" button?
Many times when a post gets a "reply" the thread compresses and the post can't be seen until you tap the blue test that appears on the lower left of the original post. There will be a something like "2 replies", and it will open up to reveal them when you click on the text.

Usual suspect: Black male. When are the white male thugs going to stand up for themselves and even the score?
