Suspect arrested in armed robbery

CONYERS -- A man who allegedly participated in the armed robbery of three people at a Leafway Trail residence has been arrested by the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.

James Michael Pittman, 18, of 775 Cole Lane, Conyers, has been charged with armed robbery, giving false information to authorities and concealing facts. He was arrested at a residence in Milstead on Jan. 6.

According to Investigator Michael Camp, Pittman and two other men drove to the Leafway Trail residence between 2:30 and 3 a.m. on Jan. 2. The suspects were armed with shotguns, according to Camp, and held up the male and female residents of the house and a male guest. The victims were robbed of cash, keys and cell phones.

Camp said the victims knew Pittman and identified him to the Sheriff's Office. They did not know the other two suspects, one of whom was wearing a mask, Camp said.

When arrested by deputies, Camp said Pittman allegedly lied about his involvement in the armed robbery.

He said the Sheriff's Office expects to be able to identify the other two suspects soon.

No matter what happened at that residence, you don't have a right to bash "Hi-Roc kids"...these people do not live in Hi Roc, they like the other's that show up, go to Hi Roc to cause trouble...there isn't much trouble from the residents, only the ones that choose to cause problems when they go there...! I'm tired of the North end of Rockdale getting talked about like it's the only place that has problems...get the facts...........

When you have drug problems like Hi Roc and nothing is done about it, things like this, or worse, tend to happen...People need to open their eyes and ears to the problems that need to be resolved and stop bad-mouthing everyone about it.....Get involved and make something positive happen, for a change..
