Vernon Rodgers, age 85 of Conyers, died Friday, January 18, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty J. Rodgers, Conyers; son, Steve Rodgers, Loganville; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Philip Housworth, Conyers; son, Philip Rodgers, Conyers; grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Gattis, Social Circle, Eric and Stephanie Rodgers, Covington, Brittany and Josh Johnson, Loganville; great-grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Emma Rodgers, Madison Rodgers, Peyton Gattis; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Pat Rodgers, Daytona, FL. Mr. Rodgers was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Conyers. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He retired after 35 years of employment with Complete Auto Transit. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Joe Hughes and Dr. Doug Ferguson officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
