As an incentive to raise money for Jump Rope for Heart, Honey Creek Elementary School's physical education teacher, Jane Van Heest, held a party for students that collected at least $25 in sponsorships for the time they jump rope. The school also held a fundraising activity that included donating money in exchange for having their hair painted red and purchasing a food of duct tape for $1. The tape was used to tape Brandon Creek, the instructional technology and data specialist, to the gym wall. The school has participated in the Jump Rope fundraiser every year and has been a top fundraising school for the past six years.
