Charges not yet filed in I-20 fatalities

CONYERS -- No charges have been filed in an alleged racing accident on Interstate 20 last week in which two people were killed.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, charges will not be considered until the follow-up investigation is completed.

The accident occurred early Friday morning on I-20 westbound near the Newton/Rockdale line.

According to the GSP, 22-year-old Kyrie Alassen Anderson of Madison was driving a Honda Accord and apparently racing with another vehicle when she lost control and struck the guardrail. The Honda traveled across the westbound lanes and was hit by a pickup truck.

The crash claimed the life of Anderson's infant son, Hunter Anderson, and another passenger in her car, Edi Rodriquez, 19, of Covington.

Anderson and the driver and passenger in the pickup truck were all injured.

According to the GSP, the driver of the other car believed to be involved in the racing with the Honda is part of the follow-up investigation.

A secondary accident occurred behind the racing wreck when one vehicle slowed for the first crash and was struck in the rear by another vehicle.
