Mr. Farry Lee Gibby, age 92 of Conyers, died at his home on Monday, March 17, 2014 after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Oscar Lee and Bessie Payne Gibby of Habersham County and was retired from the Atlanta Post Office, where he was Manager of Administrative Services. He was a member of the Heritage Hills Baptist Church and Mens Adult Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of WWII, having served as engine mechanic and flight engineer on the B-17 Flying Fortress. His overseas duty took him all the way around the world. Mr. Gibby is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Velma Lewis of Douglas, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Daniece Gibby of Little Rock, AR and Don and Judy Gibby of Riverdale; two grandsons, Chris Gibby and Scott and wife, Agnes Gibby; and great-granddaughter, Ella Kate Gibby. He was preceded in death by ten siblings, Calloway Gibby and Hester Loudermilk, both of Mt. Airy, Joe Gibby of Spartanburg, SC, Gladys Webb, Ethel Taylor and Lizzie Burris, all of Elberton, Homer Gibby of Morrow, Clyde and Lewis Gibby of Cornelia and Ruth Faulkner of Marietta. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Scot Wards Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Doug Ferguson; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
