PORTERDALE — In addition to looking for a full-time city manager, the Porterdale City Council will also be advertising to fill the city clerk position and a part-time clerical position at City Hall.

City Clerk Lynn Rodriguez tendered her resignation to the City Council on Monday, citing the need to stay home with her young family. Rodriguez has been city clerk for nearly two years. Her last day with the city will be Feb. 26.

In addition, the City Council voted Monday night to hire a part-time employee to help with clerical duties at City Hall. Councilwoman Linda Finger pointed out the need for the additional employee at a work session last week, saying that the current City Hall staff members are overwhelmed.

Porterdale is already seeking a full-time city manager to succeed Tom Fox, who has accepted the position of public safety director for Social Circle. Fox has been with the city for nearly 13 years. His last day with Porterdale is slated to be Friday.

The city manager position is advertised on Porterdale’s Web site at www.cityofporterdale.com. Job requirements include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or closely related field, with a master’s degree preferred; five years of experience as a city or assistant city manager and/or training that includes local government management, public administration, financial management, budget administration and public relations.

The deadline to apply for the position is March 15.
