Look I know this is good for people and all but a smoke detector at the hardware chains are around 15 bucks and batteries are 3 dollars. At what point do people start handling their own business? The fire was tragic and deaths may have been prevented by smoke detectors and I am happy that someone wants to save lives of children. But is it too much for me to want the person who cares most be the parents? I do not want to offend anyone, seriously. It just blows my mind. The lighter cost about the same amount as a battery.
Dear new school board members. Please do us all a favor and review discipline records of High schools and middle schools. Look at offenses committed by students and actions taken by administrations. Ask yourself "how much is enough?". If you want scores and grades to increase, you will do something about all of these problem students who are getting away with terrible behavior. If you want the good families of this county to let their high scoring kids go to these schools, you need to make the schools safe and remove the disturbances. It will take guts and brains. And the school system attorney usually advises against both from what I can tell.
Never knew that. I wish that Democrats would determine to clean up existing blue counties. Counties in georgia that are run by democrats are usually identified with bad schools, high crime, dilapidated businesses, and general decline. Instead of painting I-20 blue, I wish they would change whatever it is that makes blue counties bad places to live and raise kids.
I have always suspected that Atlanta and Dekalb money are behind these guys. There must be a group of Democrats that want the I-20 corridor. Maybe to continue with Marta out this way. I wish the republicans wanted this area just as bad.
If we had elected Hill, these guys would not be doing this. We could cut this department in half and still get the same service. These guys are way too fat. Oden has no clue how to measure effeciency and standards and hold them accountqable. the answer is always raise taxes or rates. Never manage better because that is not an option.
Eric Levett is the only local Democrat I would have voted for. I think he will do fine. I am convinced the rest are here to take advantage of our county. If the jobs of commissioners and tax commissioner and judges were open for interviews to the general public instead of election, none of these candidates would have been hired. They are completely unqualified. They rely on a voter base with an ulterior motive. A voter base that was glad that OJ Simpson got away with murder.
You're right. this poll is really just a few folks spouting. I have never seen anything real come from info shared here. I have seen a lot of legitimate complaints from teachers and citizens put here and it can be informative to a degree but not really effective as a change agent. I am speaking in general. No one in leadership here in the county takes it seriously even when info is valid.
