Congratulations Andrew, and well deserved!!
I was 7, and remember being at my Grandparents while my folks shopped at Elmore's. I can remember looking out their kitchen window, and seeing shrub bushes being pushed to the ground. The sign by the gas station next to Elmore's was bent over and touching the ground. One interesting note about this, Dr. Fujita, whom the F Scale is named for, flew over and submitted the damage reports over the next week.
If only they had gone over to Salem Gate. They could have filmed this live!
It wouldn't have mattered. Pulling out in front of another vehicle was the issue. But where and how it was impacted, there was no chance.
If you are unsure that traffic in the other direction doesn't stop, you've got to make sure before you pull out.
Clark, I remember a day when ALL the stories in the Citizen were just like this one. No robberies, murder or anything else like you get now.
BTW, Happy Valentine's Day to my bride of 20 years.
I promise to try and make the Citizen one day in a story like this, and not jumping the counter of a Texaco station!
He's paying $700 million dollars himself. The $300 million is coming from a hotel tax. The Falcons played in Fulton County Stadium for 26 years. If the new stadium is ready to go for the 2017 season, they would have played in the Georgia Dome for 25 years. A retractable roof wasn't an option in 1992, but it is now, which could lead to some open air games on the good Sunday's we have in the fall. Another Super Bowl would come along with it.
Sounds good to me!!
Thanks again to the City Council for updating this!!
One comment on each:
The County - Please have the meeting in Rockdale County.
The City - Don't do anything else at your address but tell us you are going to repeal the alcohol ordinance.
Elmo, Clayton is all over this. Ever been mugged by anybody in spandex???
As a member of the Olde Town Runners, we try our best to be aware of car traffic, and make sure we "share the road" when we can. Is it frustrating sometimes? Do we get in the way sometimes? Yes, but I can personally tell you we do as much in town as we can to help out and be a good community player when we can. Please consider those things when you consider where you fall on this.
It really is about quality of life. Do you want more of these types of things to happen here, or more check cashing joints to go up on our street corners?
There is no way that Roy Middlebrooks viewed the Fire Department as a red headed step child. No way....
